I Remember

 

The swing of your dress on a summer Sunday

Picking dandelions for you in our front yard with care

The smell of your favorite perfume

Baking oatmeal cookies in the kitchen

I remember your strength and your love

You have been my shoulder to cry on

my confidant, my teacher, my angel, my Mother

I am so blessed to be your daughter

Beyond thankful to have you as a Mother

 

And so for your birthday I give you this

smile and the window to my heart

If you ever question my love and gratitude for you

look into my eyes and remember that no matter what we go

through in this life the pure love between

Mother and daughter cannot be shaken; it is eternal
